Broadmeadows residents that are part of the Hume Enviro Champions program can attend a free masterclass that will arm them with skills to help develop strategies for communication.
The program began in 2012 and provides support to help residents deliver community-based sustainability and environmental projects. Since then, in excess of 80 projects have been undertaken, directly benefitting the environment and community.
The Community Communications Lab is the second of the three optional masterclasses undertaken by Hume Enviro Champions, the first being concerned with project planning and organising and the third referencing useful collaborations with organisations and agencies.
During the event, those attending will learn how to understand their audience and why that is important, how to pitch in order to get the message across to the various audiences and the tools that are available for communication.
Events that generate information may use local printing services to produce handouts and leaflets for distribution amongst the audience.
The Hume Enviro Champions Masterclass 2: Community Communications Lab is taking place on Saturday 22nd August, from 10am until 3pm, at the Hume Global Learning Centre, 1093 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows VIC 3047. It is free to attend, but necessary to reserve a place, as morning tea and lunch will be served. Attendees should have a passion for sustainability or the environment.
