Moody photography class to take place near Broadmeadows

Those in the Broadmeadows area who are keen to learn a new skill or improve an existing one can join a one-off photography class to do just that, organised by the Alwyn Hanson-Alwyns Photo School in Melbourne.

In an historic part of a Melbourne cemetery, a maximum of six students will be guided on how to take atmospheric images. There will be many potential subjects, such as cracked stones, decaying monuments, rusty metal and interesting lichen.

Students will be taught how to use the various camera functions, such as black and white modes, how to fathom creative white balance adjustments and built-in filters. At the end of the session, participants should be able to produce their own unique, beautiful images.

Local printing services might be engaged by photography students to produce replicas of their quality images in various sizes and finishes.

The Shadows and Stone – Cemetery Photography Course will be taking place on Thursday, 5 November, from 10 am until 1 pm. The location is the Fawkner Memorial Park, adjacent to the Broadmeadows area. A ticket costs $129, and the course is suitable for all levels of experience and beginners aged nine and above. The class size is limited to six.

Attendees need to bring a camera, batteries, SD cards and a medium or large zoom lens. In case of rain, alternative dates or a refund will be offered.
