Those living in and around Broadmeadows can take advantage of a free information session that imparts information about kangaroos and living with the local wildlife.
The session is designed to be both practical and informative and is run by the Urban Biodiversity team. This team is concerned with all living animals and plant matter existing within a built environment. The green spaces and habitats exist as a vital ecosystem, promoting well-being and diversity within the community.
During the information session, topics covered will include useful subjects such as reporting injured animals and what to do if you drive into a kangaroo, including how to reduce such risks. There will also be useful information on how to check an injured kangaroo pouch for a surviving joey and an insight into understanding the behaviour of a kangaroo, from a human perspective.
At a higher level, the session is more generally geared towards helping residents exist harmoniously with all creatures and native fauna within the urban environments.
Local information events may well be advertised by the use of printing services to produce Posters and Banners.
The Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows on Pascoe Vale Road is holding a free information session on 24th May, from 1pm until 2.30pm.
