The North Sydney area, including St Leonards is a great place to live, according to a new study.
The Urban Living Index released in November rates suburbs according to a number of factors and scores them on how livable they are.
St Leonards received an overall rating of 77, putting it in the ‘excellent’ category, while a number of other North Sydney suburbs were also given high ratings, with Crows Nest and Waverton topping the list of best areas.
North Sydney Council General Manager Warwick Wynn said the study confirmed what locals already knew. He said:
“This study shows that North Sydney Council continues to deliver a high standard of service including superior infrastructure, well-planned urban living areas, amenities such as well-maintained parks and recreation facilities and above average essential services.”
The North Sydney Council could capitalise on its success by mentioning the Index in promotional material such as Brochures to promote the area to new businesses or residents.
Suburbs were rated in five sections: affordability, community, accessibility, amenity and employability, with scores given for a range of measurements in each section, which contributed to the overall rating.
St Leonards received a perfect score of 20 in the employability section, and only rated poorly when it came to affordability.
The Urban Living Index was put together by research company McCrindle and Urban Taskforce Australia, which aims to create debate about urban living and development.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
