Renowned musician to play St Leonards area

A recording artist well-known for playing solo will soon be playing Sydney with a full band behind her.

Music fans from St Leonards and other Sydney suburbs will soon have the chance to see Joan Wasser, better known as Joan As Police Woman, as she takes the stage backed by her band.

Dubbed as being among the best musicians of the 21st century, the American performer started her career playing with the Dambuilders as a violinist but today is known for her solo work and successful collaborations. While many people felt the world grind to a halt during the pandemic in 2020, Wasser was prolific. Along with releasing her debut live album and a second release of cover versions she also recorded for the Gorillaz alongside Damon Albarn on their album Song Machine.

Record labels and recording artists alike often enlist professional Graphic Design Services to set typography and artwork for album covers. Wasser recently released a brand-new studio album entitled 'The Solution Is Restless'. The recording was written with The Invisibles’ Dave Okumu and the late and great drummer, Tony Allen.

Joan As A Police Woman will be at the State Theatre located at 49 Market Street in Sydney on Friday, June 3. The show will start at 8 pm. Wasser will be playing with three supporting musicians at the show and will perform a selection of tracks from her past and present catalogue.
