Book lovers from St. Leonards are among many locals invited to take part in an online conversation with acclaimed Australian author Belinda Alexandra.
The author of historical fiction novels including The Invitation, Silver Wattle and Tuscan Rose, Alexandra will be discussing her latest literary release The Mystery Woman in a special online event hosted by a collaboration of libraries in New South Wales.
The novel, for which Copies are available for sale at the Burns Bay Bookery, is set in remote Shipwreck Bay during the 1950s and follows Rebecca Wood, who takes on the position of postmistress in an attempt to secure anonymity following a scandal in Sydney. However, she soon learns of the suicide of her predecessor and this sparks a plot that incorporates a corrupt shire secretary, a whaling and violent captain and a dashing doctor in a sinister web full of betrayal, scandal and secrets.
