What's Happening in St Leonards, NSW…

Irish seven-piece to play St. Leonards area

A respected Sydney events venue is soon set to welcome a multi-instrument Irish folk band to its stage.

St. Leonards fans of folk will get an opportunity to witness the Australian debut of a seven-piece band from Ireland. A theatre in Sydney will be presenting The Mary Wallopers in May, who will appear with support from Frontier Touring.

Tour promoters often work with experienced printing services that can guarantee a diverse range of high-quality materials ranging from wearables and flyers to posters and signage.

The band will be arriving in Australia off the back of a sold-out tour across the UK, Europe, the USA and Ireland. The upcoming visit also comes fresh after The Mary Wallopers released their highly acclaimed sophomore album, “Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll”.

The group was created by Charles Hendy, a multi-instrumentalist, his banjo-playing brother Andrew, and their friend Sean McKenna on guitar. They were then joined by accordionist Seamas Hyland, drummer Ken Mooney, bassist Roisin Barrett and Finian O’Connor on pipes.

The band rose to fame for their raucous reimagining of traditional folk ballads and have been hailed as an honest force in the modern Irish music scene.

The Mary Wallopers will perform in concert at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Friday, May 10. The gig will begin at 7pm, and the theatre can be found on George Street.
