Dreamscape concert set to delight audiences

St. Leonard’s residents are invited to a stunning presentation of choral works as part of this year’s Dreamscape Concert.

Featuring the musical talents of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and Choir, the concert will be conducted by Anthony Pasquill and feature a smorgasbord of guests including Bel a capella, who will perform everything from Arvo Part’s Te Deum to Hierusalum by George Dyson.

This year’s composer-in-residence at Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, Alice Chance will present Holy Dreaming, which is described as:

“A musical meditation on the words of A Thanksgiving for Australia by Reverend Lenore Park, the first Aboriginal person to be ordained as a Deacon in the Anglican Church.”

Meanwhile Maria Lindsay, concert master and the orchestra’s violinist, is set to reprise a special Violin Concerto which was written especially for her by the late maestro Tommy Tycho. The Maestro was one of Australia’s music icons whose name was a common sight on Posters advertising many of the world’s most accomplished touring artists. Maria has enjoyed an impressive career as a chamber musician, soloist, teacher, concertmaster and artistic director.

Since graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as Student of the Year and with high distinction, Maria’s career has seen her hold positions in many top orchestras around the world including the Australian World Orchestra and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.

Dreamscape will be held at Chatswood’s The Concourse Concert Hall on April 4 at 7pm and April 5 at 2pm.

At the time of writing, the event was still taking place.
