In February, the focus will be on seniors in St. Leonards and throughout the Lane Cove Council area for the annual Seniors Festival.
According to a council spokesperson, the 2019 programme will feature something for everyone with printing services employed to produce a full list of activities available now from the Living and Learning Centre, the library and the Customer Service Desk.
Mayor Pam Palmer said that in conjunction with local service providers and community groups, the council is presenting a diverse programme of events including new activities such as a local food tour, a poetry slam and an opportunity to enjoy the Keystrokes Choir.
Among the many activities available will be a workshop on ‘Improving your Photography’ which will give senior participants an insight into ways of taking better images. To be held on February 20 from 10am to 12:30pm at Lane Cove’s Living and Learning Centre, the workshop will also include basic editing processing using Windows 10.
On February 25, 6:30pm to 8pm, Lane Cove Library will stage a special adults-only Raunchy Romance Storytime featuring Tim McIntyre, Steve Lynch and Megan Alston.
Another highlight of the Seniors Festival will be the inaugural Lane Cove Food Tour on February 27. As part of the tour, participants will visit up to six local cafes and restaurants to sample their culinary delights.
Activities for the 2019 Seniors Festival will be held from February 2-28.
