A theatre in Newcastle is putting on a production that brings a new twist to the Shakespearean tale of Romeo and Juliet.
Citizens in the city on the lookout for a love story with a difference are in for a treat this June. A musical theatre production titled “& Juliet” is headed for the suburb, and it has already proved a major success in the US on Broadway and at theatres in London’s West End.
Theatres, playhouses and other live events venues often use poster printing services to create high-quality one sheets that advertise the shows they present to the public.
Skipping the iconic balcony scene, the hit production envisions what would have happened if the story of Shakespeare’s heroine was rewritten. Bold and proud, the performance is packed with pop anthems thanks to a glittering soundtrack featuring “Roar” by Katy Perry, “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson and “Larger Than Life” by The Backstreet Boys.
The performance of & Juliet will take place at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle on Saturday, June 20. The show starts at 2 pm and has a run time of two and a half hours, which includes an interval.
The theatre can be found at 375 Hunter Street in Newcastle, and the production is suited to those aged eight and over.
