A multi-date festival focused on classical, jazz, world music and more is taking place in and around a premier music education and community hub in Newcastle.
Music devotees in the area can look forward to 11 days of events and concerts this winter. The Newcastle Music Festival is making a triumphant return for 2026 with an extensive programme planned that includes both local and international musicians.
Now in its ninth season, the festival was founded by artistic directors Ross Fiddes and David Banney, and over the years has hosted more than100 concerts with a range of music genres including classical, world, jazz and contemporary.
The well-established event is recognised by many by its prominent Logo Design. The emblem is the creation of Newcastle graphic design student, Christina Atherton, and is based on a musical stave.
Some of the artists and acts booked to perform include soprano soloist Miriam Allan, Bach Akademie Australia, Gioia Barbera and Federico Bucaioni, and musical duo Mitchell Berick and Erin Sweetman, who will open the festival with a special concert featuring lyrical works.
The Newcastle Music Festival will run from Thursday, 6 to Sunday, 16 August with individual events taking place at various venues. The main hub for the festival is the Newcastle Conservatorium based at the corner of Laman Street and Auckland Street, where many performances will take place.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
