What's Happening in Cheyenne, WY…

Foraging workshop to visit Cheyenne park

Even in an urban setting, nature finds a way to take hold, and a tour of Lion’s Park later this month will introduce Cheyenne to the edible and medicinal plants that can be found in the city.

Those who register for a planned tour of the park will be introduced to a variety of commonly found plants that can be eaten or used to promote good health. It will be led by Laura Cascardi, who is a local herbalist and director of the Equinox Center of Herbal Studies.

The function, which has room for up to 12 participants, will pay a visit to the park, looking for medicinal and edible plants. It will be a hands-on activity, and the group will learn about ethical foraging principles. They will visit the lake as well as the site’s trails, and there is enough room for up to 12 people in the outing.

A brochure printing company will be able to help the public to take part in the increasingly popular pastime of foraging. These publications can include full-color photos to help aid in plant identification, as well as tips for safely collecting plants for consumption.

This outing at Lion’s Park will be on offer on Saturday, May 21. Those who sign up are asked to arrive by no later than 10:30 am.
