Cheyenne's furry fundraiser to celebrate half century

Back in 1970, the Cheyenne Animal Shelter hosted its first ever “Fur Ball” fundraiser, and this year will mark its 50th year.

In honor of its anniversary, the planners are working hard to make this year’s event extra special, and the monies raised will be used for the benefit of the animals that depend on the organization for a second shot at life.

This annual gala, which is billed as being the premier pet-friendly function for the city of Cheyenne, will support the shelter and its animals and help to fund its various programs. Its Big Fix spay and neutering initiative will benefit from the evening, as will its cruelty and neglect investigations.

Each year, the planners of this celebration count on the support of community businesses and organizations to help make this fundraiser a big success, and it is hoping that this year, they will continue to be as generous. Both donations and sponsorships will be appreciated, and these funders can feel good knowing that they are helping some animals in need. Corporate gifts can be presented to those who choose to lend a hand to this type of occasion.

The 50th anniversary of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter Fur Ball will be welcoming ticket holders on March 14. It will take place in the Little America Resort and hotel, and tickets and information about the function can be found on its website.
