Cheyenne shelter to offer summer camp sessions

The Cheyenne Animal Shelter provides a refuge for creatures that are lost, abandoned, abused or neglected, and it is also a source of education for the public. This summer, its camps will provide local kids with a chance to learn more about the natural world, ranging from the deep sea to the ancient past.

Six different sessions of the ‘Critter Camps’ are being organized, and each will focus on a different topic. Parents can register their son or daughter for as many as they wish, and there will be lots of hands-on activities. The campers will meet animals from the shelter and the larger community, and there will also be games, visits from wildlife experts and other guests, crafts, and worksheets that will help them build their knowledge while they have fun.

The registration fee per session is $175 each, and if two or more children from one family are enrolled, the price is $150 each. This includes a field trip as well as a T-shirt and other supplies. Promotional products such as these can be produced by a local printer.

The first camp, which will focus on forest creatures, will begin on June 18. The last session is scheduled to start on August 13. They will be held in the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, and a link to register can be found on its website.
