Cheyenne parents-to-be offered spaces in prenatal workshop

Becoming a parent is both exciting and nerve-wracking, and a Cheyenne workshop will help them to feel a lot more confident.

Cheyenne Regional will be offering a Childbirth/Breastfeeding Class series that will equip moms- and dads-to-be with knowledge and skills that may take a lot of the fear out of having a baby. They will start at the beginning with pregnancy and move through the birth process and postpartum period, and the participants can ask questions, gather information, and meet others who are also on the start of their parenting journey.

The learners will discover ways they can enjoy a healthy pregnancy, including the warning signs of preterm labor. After this, there will be a discussion of the process of labor and delivery, including what to expect, pain control measures, and medical interventions that may be needed. The postpartum period as well as newborn safety and care will follow, and the series will wrap up with a review of feeding choices, with a focus being on breastfeeding.

This daylong class will give soon-to-be-parents a chance to hit the ground running. Offering the registrants parenting journals can help them to record this brief but important time in their child’s life, and print shops can prepare them for this this sort of function.

Cheyenne Regional has scheduled this workshop for November 7. It will begin at 8:30 am sharp, and will be held at the facility’s Meeting Room A and B.
