Cheyenne parade to welcome winter holiday season

As the days grow shorter and the air gets chilly, individuals and groups from across Cheyenne are preparing their entries for an event that has been hosted by the city for the past 28 years.

The city’s annual Christmas Parade will soon be returning for its 29th year, and it promises to offer lots of festive fun for all.

More than 130 entries will be participating in this year’s procession, and these include lots of traditional crowd favorites such as marching bands, clowns and antique vehicles. It will lats for approximately one hour and 15 minutes, and the planners noted that many consider it to be one of the region’s best.

Along with the bands, performers and others who will be participating in the parade on foot, an assortment of floats will also be included for the enjoyment of the spectators. These will be built by local businesses, community groups, and others. It is free to take in the show, and even Santa himself will be taking a break from his busy holiday schedule to join in the fun.

This sort of event usually requires lots of advance planning and organization to be a success, and print shops can lend a hand. They can prepare everything from registration forms and letterheads to banners, signs, and even a logo design.

The 29th annual Christmas Parade will proceed along Carey and Capitol Avenues on November 30. The final date for community members, organizations and businesses to submit an application to participate is November 8.
