Cheyenne fundraiser a frosty affair
It will take more than the usual icy cold Cheyenne winter to stop a group of intrepid bathers taking the plunge in support of a cause in January.
The 9th annual Polar Plunge, which will be hosted by the Schwartz Memorial Foundation, has been given the green light to go ahead. As in previous years, it will raise funds for the EOD Warrior Foundation, which provides final support and other assistance for EOD Techs and their families in need of a helping hand.
Bathers who register for the occasion will take to the water in Lions Park. They may choose to run in and back out again as fast as they can, stay and splash around, or even go for a quick swim. The public can cheer them on, and raffle draws and other activities will be taking place as well. All monies raised will be donated to the host organization.
Winter fundraisers can benefit from having some promotional products made that boast its logo design. These can be sold to help raise further funds, used as draw prizes, or given to volunteers and other supporters to thank them for their help.
The date for the 2022 Polar Bear Plunge will be January 15. Its scheduled start time is 2:00 pm, and additional details for anyone who is interested will be made available on its Facebook listing.
