What's Happening in Cheyenne, WY…

Cheyenne activity to welcome birds' return

Spring has sprung, which means millions of birds are on the move to their northern homes and a Cheyenne outing will bid them a warm welcome.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will be partnering with Cheyenne Audubon to offer a workshop that will include time outdoors as well as in the classroom. Tickets for the function are $15 each.

The activity will introduce the registrants to 50 species that may be seen in the area, with some being quite common and others rare. After this, the group will go outdoors to walk the paths at Lions Park, and everyone is reminded to bring their binoculars as well as a sack lunch. It is also advised that they dress for the weather. The attendees will be able to ask questions, and with so many birds heading to their summer territories, they may even have the opportunity to spot a “lifer.”

Birding workshops can be enjoyed by both novice and experienced watchers, and they offer a chance for them to meet others who also enjoy viewing their fine feathered friends. Supplying them with basic field guides and other printed tools to help them to identify any they see, and these can be sourced from an area printing services provider.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will be welcoming the return of the area's winged wonders on April 30. The activity will begin at 10:00 am
