Johnsonville, LLC, a manufacturer of sausage products, has announced that it will be reinvesting in its production facility in Watertown. The facility is on the west side of the city on Perry Way, and has been the home in Watertown for the company for almost 10 years, currently employing about 210 people.
Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of any investments and improvements.
The company plans to add to the front and rear of the facility, which will include expansion of the wastewater screening, mechanical, and storage areas of the facility. These additions are designed to enhance and improve the production operations of the company at the site.
The employee parking lot will also be expanded to ensure better safety and access for employees, and the stormwater drainage retention pond will be relocated.
Abacus Architects is the designer of the improvements to the facility. Abacus assisted Johnsonville when the company moved from its location in the downtown area of the city.
Plan director of Johnsonville, Felipe Vasquez, expressed his excitement about these plans. He added that the team in Watertown ensures that quality products are built in the facility and that its operations run smoothly. Mayor Emily McFarland was also thrilled that Johnsonville is affirming their commitment to the city with these improvements, as it is a quality employer in the community.
