Tree lighting festival to return to Brookfield
The Village of Brookfield is hosting its 13th annual tree lighting celebration this December.
The event is family-friendly and will include several types of entertainment. The signature tree lighting will take place between 5:45 and 6:00 pm. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All the other activities will be available throughout the evening. These will include performances, bonfires where attendees can make s’mores and live reindeer brought in by Haven’s Petting Farm.
Santa will be at the Elbowroom Bar and Grill and available for visits. There will also be a letter-writing station and a special mailbox for letters to Santa. Towns often use print shops to create signs for the different activities at their community events. Food will be available from Maxim’s Family Restaurant and Bakery, including wood-fired pizzas and cookies. Cider and hot cocoa will also be served.
Fox6 and Coats for Kids are collecting winter gear for those in need during the event. Attendees can donate lightly used coats in both adult's and children’s sizes, as well as new scarves, hats and mittens. Donations can be dropped off at BRIO Dance Studio either before or during the tree lighting.
The 13th annual Brookfield Village Tree Lighting will take place on Thursday, December 5 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McCoy Field.
