Brookfield to celebrate holidays with shopping and tree lighting

Brookfield is hosting a German Holiday Marketing and tree lighting this December.

The festivities will start with a biergarten and live music on Friday evening, followed by a mix of indoor and outdoor activities on Saturday. Friday evening will include a fish fry, beer, wine, and a performance by the country rock band Crossfire. Seafood and other dinner items will be available for purchase, and the band will go onstage at 6:30 pm.

Vendors will be set up under a tent on Saturday, selling a variety of items like specialty foods, handmade jewelry, soaps, candles, crocheted pieces, and fair trade goods. Last year’s list is available for reference and the updated list will be posted soon. Vendors often have Business Cards available for interested shoppers at this type of event.

Indoor activities will be taking place in the Senior Center. These include a crafting and letters to Santa station, and a model train display. Santa will be available for visits between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm. A story book walk and wagon rides will be available outside, and the day will end with the tree lighting at 6:00 pm.

The German Holiday Market and Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 5 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, December 6 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Brookfield City Hall.
