Orange bike mystery solved
In the last few weeks, bicycles painted solid orange, including the tires and the handlebars, have been spotted parked around Brookfield. After inquiries from some residents, an answer to their origin has been found.
The strange looking safety-orange bicycles were never seen being ridden, so there was nobody to ask about their origin. A local publication tracked down origin of the orange bikes, and it turns out they are part of an advanced marketing campaign to garner attention for Orangetheory Fitness. The company wanted to create a buzz prior to the opening of a Brookfield location in the fall.
Orangetheory studio manager Monica Larson calls the plethora of orange bikes around town a “teaser campaign”. She says a social media campaign is next. Residents will be able to earn chances to win prizes by uploading a picture of themselves next to one of the bikes onto a Facebook page.
As the time draws close for a grand opening or ribbon cutting, many businesses turn to a banner printing service to create anticipation, as well as a flyer printing service to spread the word.
Orangetheory, which started in Florida and now boasts more than 140 locations across the county, offers quick training sessions to its members, as well as personal training. The Brookfield location hopes to be ready to open in November and will be the first Orangetheory Fitness Center in Wisconsin.
