Jazz affair to come to Brookfield
The Fresh Coast Jazz Festival has announced a new one-day fall event, the Fall Affair, which will take place in Brookfield this October.
The fall event replaces a planned August three-day festival and is focused on the smooth jazz genre. Artists appearing include soulful pianist and vocalist Kandace Springs, veteran saxophone player Paula Atherton, and internationally traveled bass player Julian Vaughn. The outdoor concert is intended to have a festive atmosphere, with food trucks and retail vendors available in the surrounding park up to two hours before the concert begins and throughout the day. Cultural events like this can help small businesses and artisans make connections, exchanging business cards and contact information.
Proceeds from the event, like other Fresh Coast Jazz Festival concerts, will go towards a fund providing scholarships to students in the Milwaukee area. There will also be a silent auction held to raise money for this cause. Festival founder Carl Brown expressed his excitement at the upcoming event:
“To say we are excited about The Fall Affair would be an understatement The Wilson Center is a beautiful venue in a picturesque park-like setting, our line-up features some of today’s best smooth jazz artists.”
The Fresh Coast Jazz Festival’s Fall Affair will take place on October 9 at Brookfield’s Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. Organizers made a limited quantity of VIP tickets available.
