Golden retriever run returns to Brookfield
Discover Brookfield is hosting a dog-focused 5K at The Corners of Brookfield this June.
The Dog, Dash, Discover 5K will support the nonprofit group Wisconsin Adopt a Golden Retriever. The flat course will loop through The Corners of Brookfield, and the organizers have added a one-mile event in addition to the 5K race. The event is open to both runners and walkers, and participants can race with their dogs. Race packet pickup will be open on June 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and June 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm as well as from 6:30 am to 7:30 am on race day.
After the race, participants can meet with golden retrievers available for adoption. Local vendors will also have tables set up for browsing. Artists, crafters and other businesses can apply for a spot on the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce’s website. DJ Lex G Entertainment will manage the music throughout the morning.
Participants can sign up through Eventbrite. The cost is $35 plus fees for adults, $15 plus fees for kids five to 17 and free for kids four and under. Each runner or walker will receive a T-shirt, bandana and goodie bag. Sponsors often include promotional products in gift bags.
