Credit union HQ set for Brookfield
The new headquarters of Landmark Credit Union, a financial cooperative operating throughout Southern Wisconsin, will be opening in Brookfield in the coming months.
The project has been under construction for over a year, but is nearing completion. The new headquarters will be a 158,000 square foot, five-story high office building on a 19.5-acre campus.
Landmark will be moving about 300 administrative staff and functions to the new site from its current New Berlin headquarters. The construction involved demolishing a two-story building that was already on the site, which had been home to Herzing University. Landmark has also suggested that it may be building a second five-story building on the site in the future.
The credit union acquired the area in 2019 through a $8 million purchase from Zilber Ltd. Landmark is the biggest credit union in the state and one of the largest financial institutions. It is a not-for-profit group owned by its members, and is part of the national CO-OP Shared Branches organization.
Corporate headquarters like this are often a source of new jobs and business in a city, with prospective applicants preparing their business cards and resumes for such an opportunity.
The new Brookfield headquarters of Landmark Credit Union, which is located at 555 S. Executive Drive, is scheduled to open for business in February of 2021.
