What's Happening in Brookfield, WI…

Corners of Brookfield to become winter wonderland

Residents of Brookfield, Wisconsin will soon find a local mall transformed into a “winter wonderland” complete with synthetic ice rink and unique ice sculptures.

For the second year in a row, the Corners of Brookfield, an outdoor mall which also describes itself as a “community gathering space”, will be holding its Winterfest, which aims to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. For a $5 donation (skate rentals included), visitors will be able to skate on a 40 by 50 foot ice rink, billed as the only synthetic rink in the region and presented in partnership with the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals. The Sunday event will let guests meet and skate with the Admirals’ mascot Roscoe, and enjoy hot cocoa

Winterfest will also feature a number of ice sculptures created by Art Below Zero. New for this year are interactive ice sculpture games like mini golf and tic-tac-toe, which visitors can stand on and play. The event will be complemented with face painting and other kid-oriented activities and sales from the surrounding retailers. Events like this, often advertised through flyer printing and brochure printing, not only bring together the community but help stores gain foot traffic in the sometimes unfriendly Wisconsin winter.

The Corners of Brookfield’s Winterfest will take place during the day between January 17 and 19.
