Brookfield to celebrate annual tree lighting
Brookfield is hosting its 11th Annual Tree Lighting celebration this December.
This is a family-friendly evening that is free to attend, and will include a bonfire and s’mores. Additional refreshments will include hot cocoa, cider and cookies. Attendees will be able to take photos with live reindeer, and with Santa and his sleigh. Young performers from Brio Studios will offer dancing and musical entertainment throughout the evening. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Children will be able to write letters to Santa and deliver them to Santa’s mailbox. Holiday craft activities will also be available. The tree lighting will take place at 5:30 pm.
Additional food will be available for purchase from local restaurants including pizza by the slice from Street-Za and gourmet tater tots from Tots on the Street. The Brookfield Police and the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County are holding a Stuff the Sleigh toy drive. Those interested in donating can bring their unwrapped toys to drop off at the event. Several local restaurants and other businesses are sponsoring the tree lighting. Sponsoring organizations often give out promotional pens at this type of event.
The 11th Annual Brookfield Village Tree Lighting will take place on Thursday, December 1, running from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 2927 N. Brookfield Road.
