Brookfield theater to present uplifting play
Sunset Playhouse will be performing Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park” in its Furlan Auditorium throughout March.
Barefoot in the Park is an uplifting story of a young couple, comprising a free-spirited woman and her uptight lawyer husband, who have just moved into a tiny Greenwich Village apartment.
Simon, who passed away in 2018, was known for his Broadway comedies, with Barefoot in the Park being his first play. This will be Sunset Playhouse’s sixth run of this show since 1967. The non-profit community theater opened in 1954 and produces an eight-show season each year, in addition to several concerts, cabarets, and children’s shows.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $11 for children 12 and younger. March 3 and 9 are value nights, with tickets available for all ages for $11. Evening performances begin at 7:30 pm, Saturday matinees at 3:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 262-782-4430.
The theater’s COVID-19 policy requires that all guests wear masks during the performance regardless of their vaccination status, although full-capacity seating is now being offered. Theaters generally use stationery printers to produce their playbills or programs.
Barefoot in the Park will be performed on 14 dates between Thursday, March 3 and Sunday, March 20 at Brookfield’s Sunset Playhouse.
