Brookfield Chamber to host student STEAM fundraiser
The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first Explore STEAM event this March.
The event is intended to connect students and their families with local businesses so they can learn about opportunities in STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts and math – together. The Chamber invites its member businesses to sponsor the event, which will involve running an interactive lesson and activity involving the skills used in STEAM subjects.
Students in 4th through 8th grades will be invited to the event, along with their families. High school student volunteers will also be available to assist with the activities. The Chamber hopes to make this an annual event.
Funds raised during the event will go toward production equipment for theater and fine arts programs in Elmbrook schools. Planned purchases include lighting and sound equipment, such as mobile lights and wireless microphones that can be used for plays and musicals, as well as for school events.
Businesses interested in participating can sign up through the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber can provide ideas and suggestions for activities if needed. Sponsoring organizations often give out promotional pens to advertise at this type of community event.
The Explore STEAM event will take place on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, in Brookfield Central High School’s Main Gym.
