The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield is offering a series of painting classes for local teens this January.
The class will have four sessions. Participants will use acrylic paints and learn artistic concepts like different brush stroke techniques and ways to use the color wheel effectively. Each student will create their own painting by the end of the course. The instructor will be Rituparna Panda, who joined the Wilson Center last fall. Panda has years of experience teaching kids and teens of different ages and is passionate about helping young people learn basic artistic skills and concepts.
Those interested can sign up for the painting class on the Wilson Center’s website. The cost is $100 per person. The class is open to high school students of any artistic skill level. The Wilson Center offers a variety of classes for both kids and adults focused on different art styles ranging from figuring drawing to floral arranging. Classes often sell out, so those interested in participating should sign up as soon as possible. Local arts centers often use flyer printing services to promote their classes and events.
The Magic of Winter Teen Acrylic Painting Series will take place on Mondays, January 6, 12, 20 and 27 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield.
