Print Companies in Brookfield
The early days
Brookfield has a long and interesting history. At first, the region was home to the Potowatomi and Sac tribes before it became French territory. After the French and Indian War ended in 1763, the English took control. They held the area until after the American Revolution, at which time England gave up its claim to any of the lands comprising the new United States. As new states were added to the Union, Wisconsin became part of various territories until finally, in 1836, the area around Brookfield became a part of Milwaukee County, located in the Territory of Wisconsin.
European settlers
William Howe was the first European to settle in what would become Brookfield, arriving in 1820, a Presidential Land Grant in hand. Then in 1836, Robert Curran bought a claim and started an inn and tavern. Three years later, the small settlement had grown to the point where a schoolhouse was needed, and by 1840, there was a population of 148.
The Town of Brookfield began formally in about 1846, as part of the newly-designated County of Waukesha, which was created when Milwaukee County was split into 16 counties. The railroad – in this case the Milwaukee and Mississippi, now the Canadian Pacific – arrived and brought additional development, including a new rail depot, named Brookfield Junction. The town remained primarily agricultural and grew slowly, though a second depot that is still standing was built in 1867. The Elmbrook Historical Society, which is interested in the history of both Brookfield and Elm Grove, might work with a flyer printing company to create handouts for visitors to the society, describing the area's early history.
Development
There was little change in Brookfield from about 1850 to the Second World War, although in the 1920s, Kinsey's Garvendale, a subdivision and the first such development in Brookfield, was established at the town's southwest corner. This location was picked as it was close to West Allis, which was home to a significant industrial base.
However, soon after the Garvendale tract was developed, the world plunged into the Depression, and further housing subdivisions were slow to evolve. Today, realtors can easily work with banner printing companies to create banners for outdoor use, advertising new developments.
Incorporation
After several neighboring towns had annexed parts of Brookfield, residents began to push for incorporation, and the city was incorporated in 1954. Although much of the land was still agricultural, Brookfield's founders set out to make sure the city had strong commercial and industrial bases. They did so by encouraging industrial and office areas to develop in an orderly fashion. In such cases, new companies seeking opportunities in Brookfield could work with stationery printers to create their letterheads; they would also need to contact a business card printing company to make sure employees had up-to-date cards.
Brookfield now
Today, Brookfield has grown in to a major industrial, retail and business center. In addition, it still remains committed to order, good government, and a great quality of life. Among the amenities here is the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, which provides a venue for performing arts as well as serving as a curator for the Ploch Art Gallery. Center operators could work with a poster printing company to create colorful display posters for upcoming attractions.
