Salons reopen in Baraboo

People in Baraboo and Portage can now get their hair done by their preferred stylists after the services were given permission to start conducting business again.

Though open, barbers and salons are operating under heavy restrictions such as limited capacity. Despite the long waits, members of the community are happy that they can get back into the salon chair for the first time since February. Shops can use poster printing to let the public know that they are open for business.

Most people take about six weeks before they go back in for a retouch, but the stay-at-home order has meant that they have to wait much longer and despite demand for at-home hair services, this went against the restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the virus. The fact that they had to wait for so long means that the first trip to the salon tends to take longer than usual.

Sarah Kaether from a salon called A Cut Above told WiscNews.com:

“It’s taking some extra time, and I have some people who have worked on their hair themselves. I have a challenge there, correcting it. I have to use more product. It will cost me more in the long run.”

Some salons are fully booked for weeks in advance, and people who had appointments booked before the lockdown started are being given priority.
