Museum provides virtual tours

The Circus World Museum in Baraboo is not able to entertain guests while the county goes into shutdown to slow the COVID-19 spread, but the staff at the museum is taking steps to ensure that the museum is still able to educate and entertain the public.

Scott O’Donnell, who is the museum’s executive director, is leading his staff as they start filming their exhibitions so that they can offer virtual tours. The virtual tours hope to cover as much of the musical instruments and collections as possible, and then upload the content to social media and make it easier for those who are staying at home to keep their minds in a positive place.

O’Donnell said:

“We’re trying to get as much content ready to go for the days ahead here so we keep everybody engaged. Our primary goal is to make sure that everybody, from staff to performers to our guests and our community, remain safe.”

The museum has started uploading puzzles, daily videos, and other types of content on its Instagram and Facebook pages. A circus-themed coloring book can be downloaded free of charge from the museum’s website. Free e-Books make for effective Promotional Products.

O’Donnell is confident that the museum will make it through the shutdown by cutting down on expenditure. The museum intends to offer entertainment pieces from jugglers and acrobats in the summer starting from May 15, although O’Donnell expects that this will be pushed back.
