Baraboo museum calls for local assistance

A museum in Baraboo is seeking donations from the public to help maintain its collection of antique artefacts.

Circus World museum has a collection of old circus wagons that need to be restored and looked after, and it has started an ‘adopt a wagon’ program to help raise funds to do this. To take part, donors can choose to donate between $200 and $1,000, which will be used to fix up whichever wagon they select.

The Superintendent of the museum told Baraboo News Republic that many people do not realize how much it costs to perform this work, and their contributions can make a big difference in the restoration work of the vehicles, some which date back to the 1800s. He also noted that due to a reduction in the funds they have to work with, the work is now being done largely by volunteers when they have the time, so it will be a gradual process.

The museum has also started a membership drive, and has set up a website where people can sign up for both the membership and the wagon program. As a thank you for their generosity, they will receive passes to the facility, as well as a chance to see parts of it that are not open to the general public.

A poster printing company can help to raise awareness about a campaign like this. Colorful promotional items can let people know about the need for assistance and what they can do to help.
