Baraboo meeting to discuss wildlife resistant gardening

An activity in Baraboo will soon show that it's possible for deer, rabbits and other creatures to get along with home gardeners.

Often, gardening in a rural or suburban area may mean having to deal with unwelcome wildlife. During the November meeting of the Baraboo Buds Garden Club, the focus will be on using fencing and other methods to keep wildlife out. It will be on offer at the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library, and new members are welcome.

The meeting will give its attendees time to share their own tips for protecting their flower and vegetable beds, as well as their trees and shrubs. Anyone who feels their fencing setup may work for others is encouraged to submit a photo of it ahead of time so it can be shared with the group. The discussion will run for one hour, with no admission fee.

Gardening and other hobby-focused clubs give those who are interested in a particular pastime a chance to meet others who also enjoy the activity, as well as pick up some new skills. Stationery printers will be able to prepare low-cost handouts to distribute during an event; these may include photos and other graphic design components.

The Baraboo Buds Garden Club has scheduled its November meeting, which will be focused on fencing and other barriers to wildlife, for November 14th. It is scheduled to start at 6:30pm.
