Committee seeks to increase tourist levels in Woodinville
From wineries to gardening centers, the Woodinville Tourism Marketing Committee believes that there are plenty of reasons that tourists should visit the award-winning city in Washington. This year, the Committee is investing in a new ad in the Washington State Visitors’ Guide, produced by a custom print company each year.
Further, the board is updating the Visit Woodinville website and sponsorship by the Celebrate Woodinville festival, as well as Visit Seattle.
The majority of visitors to Woodinville are people who travel to Seattle for meetings or conferences, and then look to travel to a less urban area while they are visiting.
Last year, the sponsorship included a spot on the video wall of the Washington State Convention Center, as well as advertising on the website and social media sections of Visit Seattle. This year, the Committee is considering “taking over” the Visitors Center, and having an event with Woodinville winemakers who are eager to talk to visitors and invite them to visit the town.
Brenda Vanderloop, hired by the city to manage the tourism partnership in Woodinville, feels that the town could make good use of an information kiosk, with visuals and brochures available for visitors on foot in the town.
Speaking about the move, Vanderloop said she believes it is wonderful that Woodinville has come “full circle” as a community and realized the importance of tourism marketing.
