Vacancy on transportation group open in Tacoma

A new member is being sought for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Technical Advisory Group of the City of Tacoma.

The focus of the group is to improve the safety of skating, bicycling, riding a scooter, or skateboarding in Tacoma, making it easier and more accessible, and this includes using an assistive mobility device. The open position is for an adult who is at least 18 years of age and who lives in the city. The term is for three years and is renewable.

Local printing services often assist with notifying the community of such opportunities. They can provide a variety of printed materials such as Flyers and Posters, which can be distributed throughout the city.

Among the duties of the members of the BPTAG are to develop new policies to improve the access and safety of active transportation; provide feedback on the design of projects related to active transportation; prioritize new pedestrian and biking projects throughout the city; give input on active programs and transportation; and bring concerns of the community to the attention of leaders and staff in the city.

Meetings are held every month on the fourth Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Members can attend them at the Tacoma Municipal Building or online. Applications for this opening need to be submitted online by Monday, March 20 at 11:59 pm.
