One-of-a-kind doughnut store to come to Tacoma

A new location of Voodoo Doughnut is about to arrive in Tacoma.

The chain is based in Portland and has leased a building on Sixth Avenue spanning 5,000 square feet. This will be the third Voodoo Doughnut in the Puget Sound area, and the first such store in Tacoma. Its other locations in the area are in downtown Bellevue and in Capitol Hill. Altogether, its locations are spread across seven states with 26 stores.

Unconventional styles of doughnuts, together with creative designs that are always changing, are what distinguish this store from other doughnut shops. One of its signature doughnuts is the Voodoo Doll, which has raspberry jelly and is topped with a pretzel stick and chocolate icing.

Such new stores can be promoted by local Print shops, which can create Flyers and other printed materials to highlight their unique offerings.

Voodoo Doughnut was founded in 2003 by Tres Shannon and Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson, two friends and natives of Portland, to fill a fill a void as the city did not have a shop for doughnuts. Their first store was a small storefront in Old Town. Within a month of this opening, the store gained national attention and has been featured in media outlets including People Magazine, Good Morning America, the Travel Channel, and the Today Show.
