In a couple of months, Tacoma will once again be hosting a unique event that draws people from all over, and the organizers are seeking businesses, organizations, and individuals who are interested in taking part.
The annual Daffodil Parade will wind its way through four communities in one day. It celebrates the history and traditions of the county, and will visit Tacoma, Summer, Orting, and Puyallup. It is expected to have more than 180 entries, ranging from bands, to floats, to walkers. Thousands of bright yellow daffodils will decorate the floats in honor of the flowers that have bloomed in the area for more than 80 years.
The organizers are accepting applications from anyone who is interested in taking part. The theme will be ‘Daffodil Paradise’, and those who are constructing floats can order the flowers to decorate them at a cost of $110.00 for 1,000. People who are fabricating a float can use printing services to provide Banners, Signs, and other decorations for their entry. Prizes will be awarded in an assortment of categories for the different entries.
The Daffodil Parade has been scheduled for April 8, and it will be in each of the four different communities at different times of the day, starting with Tacoma at 10:15 am. Anyone who is considering participating is asked to visit the event’s website for further details, applications and waivers and also flower ordering Forms.
