Over the next few years, a large number of U.S. military personnel will be transitioning from a career in the army, navy, airforce or marines, to civilian life, and a Tacoma area event has been organized to lend them a helping hand.
The public is asked to donate a gently used men’s or women’s suit during the Suits for Soldiers barbecue. To thank them for their contribution, and to make the event fun, there will also be soda, chips, hotdogs, and burgers. This “clothes raising” function is being both organized and sponsored by the Hunt Insurance agency, LLC, which is also accepting the donations.
The barbecue will take place on November 30th from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Hunt Insurance Agency, which is located at 3620 100th Street SW, Suite B in Lakewood. The organizers are hoping that the public will come out and show their support to those who have served their country. Banners and other promotional materials can be produced by a printer to help make a function like this as successful as possible.
Anyone who has a suit but cannot attend the event can drop off their donation at the agency in person from now until the day of the event. More details, and an opportunity to sign up to make a donation, can be found on the Suits for Soldiers Eventbrite listing.
