Festivals Inc. will be hosting this year’s Independence Day celebrations in Tacoma along the scenic Ruston Way waterfront up to the newly opened Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park.

The T-Town Family Fourth, as it will be called, will be a community and destination event, offering a wide range of attractions and activities at no cost to the public. There will be vendors from the area offering food from restaurants and trucks, as well as artisan and specialty vendors.
On the Neighborhood Stage in Cummings Park, Xfinity will present entertainment from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. Among the featured artists will be various neighborhood organizations doing their own acts, such as funk, blues, and jazz guitarist Michael Powers. Other performers include top 40s band The Phoenix and two Tacoma-based bands—Harmonious Funk and Readymade Family.
The kids will be able to enjoy the Little Patriots Play Park with inflatables and fun activities for children of all ages.
The day will end with a fireworks show over Commencement Bay that will be synchronized to music. It will be positioned so that it will be visible from Dune Peninsula, extending past the Les Davis Pier.
The celebrations will be held on Saturday, July 4 from 11:00 am to 10:30 pm.
