When a member of the military makes the transition to civilian life, they may find themselves looking for employment, and a Tacoma event has been planned that will give them an opportunity to explore their “civi-side” job options.
This networking event, which has been dubbed ‘Works of Honor’, will bring together military spouses, veterans, and business professionals in a collaborative atmosphere. There will be a wide assortment of companies with representatives on site seeking trained and hardworking employees, so those who plan on attending are encouraged to be prepared to meet with potential employers. A local printer can supply digital Business Cards, Copies of résumés, and other materials for those who take part in functions such as this.
The people who come to the event will also have a chance to learn more about how the skills and training they obtained while in the military can be applied to their civilian life. There will be no fee charged for those who attend as a jobseeker or companies that are Contributing Partners. The participation fee for noncontributing company partners will be $20.
The event has been planned for the evening of October 4 at the Dystopian State Brewing Company in Tacoma. Anyone who would like additional details is invited to visit the Work of Honor website for more information and a chance to register to participate.
