Applicants with experience in public administration, government performance, financial auditing, and the fiscal and financial practices of the government are encouraged to apply to be a community member of the Audit Advisory Board (AAB) in Tacoma.

The Government Performance and Finance Committee (GPFC) of the Tacoma City Council is supported by the AAB to help it carry out its oversight, liaison, advisory functions with regard to auditing. These functions include:
• making audit management recommendations to the City Council
• ensuring the work of the city’s independent auditors and the audit needs of the City Council are coordinated to enable the audit of functions, activities, and programs in the city
• acting as liaison between the office of the City Manager and the City Council regarding all activities, functions, and programs not under the direction of the City Council.
The AAB comprises two members of the Tacoma Public Utilities Board, every member of the GPFC, and one community member. The chair of the AAB is also the chair of the GPFC. There are quarterly meetings of the AAB.
Applications for the position need to be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk by next Monday, October 10 at 5:00 pm.
