Manic Meatballs will be opening later this month in the Tillicum neighborhood of Lakewood in what was formerly an Omni Bank. Residents of Tacoma will no doubt want to try out this unique cuisine.
Carrie Stalder, owner of the restaurant, said that it will specialize in take-out with a drive-thru window. She added that she was looking for a location where people could get good-quality fast food with minimal waiting time, and that it would also be able to provide additional options for the soldiers in the area.
The specialty of the restaurant is Swedish meatballs, in an effort to focus on serving more Scandinavian food in the area. The meatballs will be available in portions of 6, 12, or 24, covered in traditional brown gravy. Signature side dishes will include applesauce, green beans, egg noodles, and mashed potatoes. Owners of such new eateries often work with local Print shops to help get the word out about their specialty menu items.
Other items on the menu will be Swedish poutines, a dish made with French fries and topped with gravy, cheese curds, and optional meatballs. Sandwiches made with either beef, pork, or chicken-apple meatballs and topped with coleslaw will also be on the menu.
This is Stadler’s first venture in the restaurant business and she is looking to open before the end of the year.Get a Free Quote for Print
