Amy Clancy has been appointed as the Media and Communications Director for the City of Tacoma by Elizabeth Paul, the City Manager. She will take up her new position before the end of the month.
Such new positions often require the hiring of those who engage in business card printing services.
Clancy was selected after an extensive recruitment process that included input from internal communication partners, leaders in the city, and members of the Media and Communications Office team. Her responsibilities as Media and Communications Director will include overseeing the public relations, marketing, internal communications, and media relations efforts of the city. She will also work with departments on strategies to encourage civic engagement and promote government transparency.
Recently the Director of Strategic Communications for the Seattle Police Department, Clancy supervised its public affairs office during three challenging years in the department. She has also been an award-winning journalist with KIRO in Seattle for over 30 years.
In 2021, Clancy and her husband moved from Seattle back to Tacoma. Clancy expressed her thrill in returning home and is looking forward to working with the people of Tacoma.
According to Paul, Clancy has developed a reputation as a respected professional communicator and has the expertise and background to ensure that the city distinguishes itself through high-quality engagement and communications with the public.
Clancy will begin her position on Monday, April 24.
