Most Tacoma film buffs will not have an opportunity to attend this year’s Oscar awards, but they will have a chance to join in the celebration, albeit on a smaller scale, and support their local arts community in the process.
The Broadway center for the Performing Arts will be hosting its very own Annual Film Awards Party at the Theater on the Square. The event will take place in the Grand Cinema, complete with red carpets, paparazzi, forecast voting, and prize giveaways, all of which will be hosted by local personalities.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle, with all proceeds going to help support the programs and operations at the Grand. Those who come out will be able to purchase refreshments from a variety of locally made snacks from the concession stand. Banner printing services can be used to produce themed decorations that can be used at events such as this.
The suggested attire for the evening is black-tie or formal, but for those who wish to do something a little different, there will be a costume contest for those who arrive dressed as a character from their favorite film to be nominated to win an award this year. There will be prizes, supplied by the Melting Pot, given for the winners.
All this will be taking place on February 28. Further information is available on the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts website.
