Girls in Gis (GIG), a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu group, will be coming to the Pacific Northwest next month. They will be hosting a training session for women and girls only at the Logic Jiu Jitsu Club in Tacoma.
Girls and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Guest instructors, Jessica Sea and Cindy Hales, promote the event as fully engaging its attendees, such that a chaperone or parents are welcome to accompany younger children as spectators.
Cindy Hales is a 3rd degree Black Belt and one of the “dirty dozen,” which are the first 12 women who have black belts. Jessica Seā received her black belt last year after training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for over 13 years.
All the events held by Girls in Gis rely on donations to provide equal opportunity to everyone and enable the instructors to be paid. Donations also go towards expanding and making possible the programs of Girls in Gis that include scholarships, instructional training programs, their leadership program, and their events. Such events often turn to local Print shops to create Flyers, Posters, and other displays for promotion throughout a community.
The minimum donation requested for this event is $15 per person. This also enables the participant to purchase GIG patches, tee-shirts, and other GIG merchandise. This event will be held on Saturday September 11 from noon to 3:00 p.m.
