The Seattle Furry 5K will be held this year at Seward Park, and benefits the Seattle Animal Shelter.
The Furry 5K is a race open to runners, walkers, and four-legged companions. In past, many attendees have chosen to bring their dogs along with. The race is followed by a pet festival with music, vendors, awards, and more.
Taking place at Seward Park on Lake Washington, the route is almost a complete loop and is entirely within the park. Day-of registration and the Pet-A-Palooza festival will also be in the park. Those that wish to bring their dogs should be aware of basic safety rules, including no retractable leashes, no leashes longer than eight feet, and an up-to-date vaccination record.
The race is timed for runners, and awards will be handed out at the end for the top three female and male runners, along with the top three canine companions. The Pet-A-Palooza will have dogs trained in special tasks, such as agility, showcasing their talent. There will also be vendors at the festival, including pet products and services, other non-profits, and more.
This event may use banner printing to help advertise and raise awareness, especially as this event is for a nonprofit organization and a charitable cause. This event is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, beginning at about 11:30 am.
