Seattle session introduces art of darning

Knowledge of hand sewing can be a thrifty skill to have, and a Seattle session will help its newest crop to learn the art of darning with a needle and thread.

The NE Seattle Tool Library will be offering locals the opportunity to learn how to darn. While it is recommended that the attendees know some basic hand sewing techniques, it will be a beginner-friendly activity. It will run for two hours.

The class will open with a tutorial, and registrants are asked to bring along an item of clothing to darn. After the presentation, the attendees will get in some hands-on practice while the facilitator offers tips, advice, and other support. Those with a darning needle and darning egg (also sometimes known as a darning mushroom) are asked to bring them, and the instructor will teach how to utilize them in their project.

Hands-on learning sessions often provide a fun way for participants to learn something new. A flyer printing company can supply a variety of marketing options for such an activity at various price points.

This opportunity to learn the art of darning will begin at Wednesday, 6:00 pm on November 5. The library at 10228 Fischer Place Northeast, Seattle will be the location for the session, and the registration fee, which is set on a sliding scale, starts at $12.51.
