Seattle combines music and seafood

Seattleites who love music and seafood may flock to the 52nd annual Ballard Music & Seafood Festival this July.

A total of 14 different bands are expected to perform, with Nite Wave leading the festival as Friday night's headliner. Saturday night's headliner is Built to Spill, and Sunday's is Wild Rumours. Other musical artists expected to perform include Low Cut Connie, The Dusty 45s, and Coral Grief.

A variety of seafood vendors will be serving up some of the best seafood in the Northwest, but the star of the show is expected to be the alder-smoked salmon BBQ made with Trident Seafoods salmon. It will be available while supplies last. Other food options will include beer-battered shrimp, clams, and mussels. A beer and cocktail garden will be overlooking the main stage during the festival and features beer, handcrafted cocktails, spritzers, and wine. Non-alcoholic options are also available.

Finally, the festival hosts arts and crafts vendors that sell items that sell art pieces and artisan jewelry, among other items. Artists or crafters looking to participate may use business card printing services and hand the cards to shoppers who are interested in seeing more of their work.

The Ballard Music & Seafood Festival will take place from July 10-12. It encompasses several blocks in the Ballard neighborhood. The festival is free to attend, although some individual attractions do cost a fee.
